2017-2018 Certificate of Achievement EMAILS/Letters:
4-10-18 (Important Links)
Teachers,
We have posted some important links online. You will need to access these links for the teacher information sheets, student information sheets, parking permits, and appointment forms that your students will need on Saturday. We have also included a lunch menu link with instructions on how to pay for those teachers who may be volunteering all day and would like to purchase a lunch.
I sent an email through the system yesterday about lunch and Andrea sent an email last week through the system regarding the links. If you are not receiving the TVMTA emails please check and make sure that you’ve added treasurevalleymta@gmail.com to your approved list.
Thank you,
Emily Hanks

4-10-18 (COA Lunch Orders & Young Beginner Information)
Teachers,
If you are going to be volunteering at Certificate of Achievement and would like the opportunity to purchase lunch for the day, we will be ordering from Costa Vida. We need any orders by Thursday night (April 12, 2018). If we have NOT received your order by Thursday night you will need to bring your own lunch on April 14, 2018 for Certificate of Achievement. Judges will already have a lunch provided for them. I have created a simplified Costa Vida menu to keep it easier for those distributing lunches. Download the menu from the link below. Fill it out. Then scan a copy or take a picture and send it to Emily Hanks emilyhanks@yahoo.com. Be sure your name is included on the menu!!!
Payment can be made through Paypal. Log into www.paypal.com . Click "Send and Receive". Use the email address.... treasurevalleymta@gmail.com . Click "Next". Put in the lunch payment amount. Add a note "{Teacher Name} COA Lunch". Click Continue. Select your payment account (Checking, Visa, Etc). Click "Next" to verify the transaction and then click "Send". You will receive an email receipt showing that you have sent the money.
Also, for those with Young Beginner students, we are going to have the judge use the sight reading portion of the test for them this year. It will be done at the end of their time with the judge and will not affect anything pertaining to this year's test. This year, Young Beginner will still receive a free point for sight reading. We are hoping to make the complete shift to Musician's West next year, which does require a sight reading element for the Young Beginner. The judge will be sharing with us how feasible this may be for this level and help us decide if it's something we will be including in the future. Please do not feel the need to prepare your student for this other than mentioning to them that it will not affect their test.
Thanks!

3-27-18 (Finalized Schedules)
Teachers,
The student schedules are finalized. Please take a look and make sure there are no mistakes.
Also, we are needing to make sure you get your volunteers lined up for Certificate of Achievement Day. Please get them entered by March 31 so we can begin assigning jobs. All volunteers are required to be AT LEAST 16 years old. Please log on to http://www.treasurevalleymtaregistration.org to enter your volunteers.
Remember that in order to help things run smoothly we need a half day volunteer for every 5 students entered. This means that if you have 11 you would need to find three half day volunteers. We are asking that every teacher have at least one of those volunteer slots be yourself. If you are a judge for that day, please find the needed number of volunteers in addition to judging since you will be compensated for your judging time. If you have been asked to volunteer in the theory, sight reading, or auditing room, that time counts as volunteer slot time. We appreciate your help in continuing to make this a great event for our students to participate in.
Thank you,
Emily Hanks

1-8-18 (Details of COA)
Teachers,
I just wanted to let you know some details about this year’s Certificate of Achievement. We will be holding the event on April 14 at the Morrison Center at BSU. There are two options if your student will not be able to do the April 14 event. The first option is a make-up day on the 21st also held at the Morrison Center, but it is for limited use and as soon as it is full no other students will be permitted. The second option, if you are unable to make either of these dates or the 21st is full is Path B. Path B requires that you hire your own judge, but the deadline for it to be turned in is still the 28th. There also are extra fees involved. Path B should not be used because you think your student needs more preparation time. Please contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements for either make-up day or Path B.
Phase I – Registration & Payment will be open on January 15 and will close on January 30.
Phase II – You will be able to enter the repertoire from February 1-28.
The fees for this year have not gone up and will range from $28-$50 depending on the level. Here is a link for additional guidelines on the 2018 COA
Thank you,
